Capo Cado Cavallo

Our first day in Sardinia was immediately a very beautiful one. After arriving in Sardinia by ferry in Olbia, we decided the next morning to explore the area immediately on our vintage Tomos. The first beach in Sardinia that we visited was also immediately one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia, namely Capo Cado Cavallo. A beautiful beach with clear blue water and surrounded by extraordinary rock formations. The drive to the beach is already an absolute picture. Just before you reach the beach, you have a great view of the bay. Be sure to take a moment here to enjoy the view.

La Pelosa Beach

La Pelosa is one of Sardinia’s most famous beaches, and for good reason. The water here is so clear and the beach so white that you almost seem to float. Definitely a pearl of a beach, but its beauty does attract a huge number of people. But despite the crowds, we definitely recommend a visit to this beautiful beach in Sardinia.

Nice tip! Near Pelosa Beach you will find salt flats where Flamingos are regularly spotted.

Chia

From one of the most visited beaches to an undiscovered gem, namely Chia beach. In fact, we had this beautiful beach completely to ourselves, which is surely unique in Europe. The beach is golden and surrounded by the most breathtaking scenery. We decided to have a picnic here at sunset and this is still absolutely one of greatest travel moments ever!

Porto Giunco Beach, Villasimius

Porto Giunco Beach can be found near the charming village of Villasimius. A popular spot with windsurfers. On the west side of the village you will find rough somewhat austere sea, but on the east coast you will find pearly white beaches and azure waters. Yes can walk from one beach to the other in no time and it really is a bizarre difference. Porto Giunco Beach is the perfect place for a day of lazing. On the beach you will also find a beach bar where you can enjoy a snack and drinks.

Spiaggia di Porto Ainu

This beach is definitely a gem, but not the most beautiful beach on this list. Nevertheless, for us, this beach is among one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia. Especially if you are with the motor home. In fact, you can stay here right on the beach among the pine trees. For us one of the most beautiful places in Sardinia that we have had the pleasure to stand.

Puntaldia

Around Olbia you will find several beaches that are absolutely worth visiting. After visiting the Capo Cado Cavallo beach, we decided to also stop at Puntaldia and it is truly unprecedented how many beautiful beaches you can find here.

#6 Porto Istana Beach

Another beautiful beach near Olbia to visit is Porto Istana Beach. On the northeast coast of Sardinia you will find numerous beautiful beaches. This is the ideal region for beach hopping by car, moped or bicycle. Not only the beaches are magnificent, but the surroundings and the roads are terribly beautiful.

#7 Dido Beach, Buggeru

The west coast of Sardinia is often somewhat underexposed. The beaches here are a little less white and the water a little less blue. Instead, the coast here is rugged and rocky, which is precisely what makes it the area so beautiful. It is also the place for wave surfers and water sports enthusiasts. Although the water here may be a little less tropical, Dido Beach is among one of our favorite beaches in Sardinia.

#8 Spiaggia Porto Taverna

Spiaggia Porto Taverna is a somewhat lesser-known beach near Olbia. We ended up here because we spent a few nights at nearby Taverna campground. From our campsite we could walk right onto the beach, which was secretly particularly beautiful. Spiaggia Porto Taverna is a vast beach with a beautiful white beach. The beach is not hugely famous, making it wonderfully quiet. Still, you will find several trendy beach bars where you can have a bite to eat or a drink. So a very nice place for a day at the beach in Sardinia.

Often Foetsie and a bit of a foodie. That's me in a nutshell. I prefer to be away as much as possible, traveling, exploring the world. I do not do this alone, but together with my great love (almost husband) and very occasionally our sweet, old, grumpy pug. But also with friends and family of course. From scuba diving to climbing gigantic mountains, eating on the street to luxury villas, from doing nothing at all to running blisters under our feet.
